John Trinanes

Idea-driven Creative Director with deep experience in defining overarching strategic direction and creative vision. Extensive experience working with clients, leading and inspiring teams of multi-disciplined creatives to bring to life bid idea creative solutions.
Currently, John is the Chief Creative Officer at the Opus Agency, where he is leading the transformation of the agency’s integrated experiential offering. As CCO, John drives all creative responses for major new business opportunities. John has built a multi-disciplined team of creatively-led individuals across Opus’s six offices to work across some of the world’s biggest brands such as Amazon, Microsoft, Facebook, Salesforce, Google and Expedia.
Previously as the global Executive Creative Director for GPJ, John lead the transformation of the Creative team across 31 offices worldwide, establishing a "blueprint to a culture of creativity". An agency-wide initiative that resulted in the complete evolution of the creative make-up and the adoption of a more agnostic approach to creative problem-solving. John and his team have created award-winning campaigns for clients like Under Armour, Pepsi, and Jeep to name a few.
Before GPJ, John owned a South Beach brand advertising boutique that worked with top brands like Samsung, Fox Sports, the NFL and Carnival Cruise Lines in the US and Latin America. John found his passion for creating out of the box, non-traditional brand experiences as a member of the renowned Crispin Porter + Bogusky creative during his early days in Miami
John has been honored in many of the industry's top publications, including Communication Arts and Graphic Design USA. In 2013, John was nominated by the AdClub as one of the top Creatives in Boston
His work has been recognized by some of the industry's top award shows and has won multiple Hatch, Clio and Addy Award to name a few. John was an instructor for three years and part of the founding sta of the Miami Ad School
John is an avid collector of vintage comic books (strictly Marvel) and can usually be found cruising suburban Boston on his longboard or dropping in on small swells at his favorite surf spots in Newport RI.
